Jack’s strikingly elegant botanical "portraits" are executed in graphite with confident and unbroken lines. These blooms are sure to lift the spirits of anyone with the late winter blues. Interactions of hand and eye, space and surface, silhouette and contour create an organic photosynthesis of minimal beauty in orchids, amaryllis, cyclamens and tulips. This is the first installation of a series of exhibitions at the Cinema curated & sponsored by the Behnke Doherty Gallery which will feature work by members of the Washington Art Association.

10% of sales will benefit the Washington Art Association, a not for profit organization, established in 1952 by a group of local artists who were seeking ways to nurture creative life in and around Litchfield County. Their goals were to promote greater understanding and appreciation of art, and to encourage and facilitate the study, creation, and exhibition of art.
